That’s because Young Living pays close attention to every step of the process – so much so that we use the term, ‘Seed to Seal,’ meaning that from the seeds chosen to when the bottle of essential oil is sealed, the process is held to the highest standards. What makes a quality oil?

Your essential oils are created with love and care, from the seeds that are planted, the soil they are placed in, the care given to the plants as they grow and the distilling. Learn about how Young Living ensures that ‘Natures Living Energies’ are brought to you in their purest form.

The 5 Steps in the ‘Seed to Seal’ process

Step 1: Seed

Select superior seeds for superior plants.

Just like when you cook, selecting the highest quality ingredients is key to a healthy, nourishing outcome.

Step 2: Cultivate

Plants are grown on land enriched with organic mulch, enzymes, and minerals, kept pest-free with essential oils treatments, and watered with pure water from deep wells, reservoirs, or watersheds (free of harmful chlorine or fluorides).

Step 3: Distill

Young Living’s proprietary low-pressure, low-temperature steam distillation process assures that the beneficial plant compounds in every batch of oil remain uncompromised during the extraction process.

Step 4: Test

Each batch of essential oil is sent through six rigorous tests to determine if the oils have been subject to dilution, cutting, or adulterated processes. Additional tests confirm that the optimal level of beneficial constituents is present in each batch.

Any oils that do not meet Young Living’s purity and potency standards are discarded.

Step 5: Seal

Using state-of-the-art equipment, Young Living completes the Seed to Seal process by carefully sealing and labeling each bottle of essential oil.
